Reiki for Animals
What is Reiki
Reiki is the Japanese word for Universal Life Force Energy. We are born with this energy but what makes Reiki different is the attunement process, which the student will experiences with different levels of Reiki. The amounts of energy are drawn through a channel where the energy enters at the crown chakra and passes down our body. The person giving Reiki is never drained of energy nor will they pass on any negative energy or you can not receive too much energy only the amount that you need. Reiki also makes its own way to the area of the body where it is most needed.
Ethical Principals of Reiki
Just for today do not worry.
Just for today do not anger.
Honor you parents, teachers and elders.
Earn your living honestly.
Show gratitude to everything.
Dr. Mikao Usui
Dr Mikao Usui, Chujiro Hayashi, and Hawayo Takata are important figures for spreading Reiki teachings to many.
In the early 90's I attended a class for level 1 Reiki at a local college. No sure what to expect, we were put into groups of 2 and gently put our hands on our partners shoulders as we sat in a chair. In a few minutes I felt my hands getting warm and tingly. We did this for about 20 minutes and then changes positions with our partner. I noticed my headache disappeared after the 1st session and I felt more calm and relaxed.
Reiki is a form of natural healing that has worked for me many times. I use Reiki every day on myself, friends and animals and situations. It has been a wonderful tool for me. I first started using Reiki on animals about 10 years ago. We had a horse that began to colic and as I was walking him I held my hands on him gently and his pain did not seem as bad.
I have an older cat that has some stomach problems and with the help of medications from her vet and reiki she seems to be eating better and keeping food down.
We do rehabing of thoroughbreds from the track. They come to us with many ailments, such as leg problems, feet issues and detoxin off of the drugs. Reiki has been a useful tool in helping them rehabilitate. Animals are great patients. I have done both hands on and distant Reiki on them. Recently we had a bad horse colic that needed surgery. I gave him Reiki for 10 days and do believe it helped the healing process.
